This starts page 6 of the guestbook. I see that my local PBS station is having a membership drive. Perhaps we should do the same? Let's try to find all those yet unrediscovered friends from the group shots on the site and get them on board for the August 10th reunion.

I am truly looking forward to the reunion (wherever it may be) and the chance to re-connect. And just to weigh in on the NJ thing, I don't think there is anything wrong with NJ, it's a beautiful state, my brother lives there as do most of my family, but it is about as connected to camp as my new home state of CT. - let's keep the reunion as close to the old camp as possible! Hope to see everyone at the reunion!

want to say I'll go anywhere to see everyone again and would love to have camp for at least one day and share that day with my children. I am coming from Florida so no one should fight where to go... let's just get together, would anyone want to come to Florida? :) It is a long way..... my dear camp friends I will be there with bells on or is that a custom form some play we always put on. And why is it no one else in my whole life knows about newcomb, only volleyball? Did we invent it? God Bless

SUE RACHLIN writes: Dear Friends: In recent weeks I have been contacted by some of our oldest staff, circa the 1960's. Just to name a few...Arthur Albstein, Bradley Bleefeld and Marvin Wurtzelman. I am beginning to really feel my age when Bradley tells me that he has a grandchild. Please everyone, get on the ball and locate more of our hidden friends...there are hundreds of them...so that this once-in-a-lifetime reunion will be the most successful ever. Many people shun going to their high school or college reunions, but this one has to be unique. Ira will have more to tell you but in the meantime please let him know that you are planning to attend and will bring your children. *I spoke to Janet Albstein today to offer my condolences on the recent death of her husband, Alan. The Albsteins and Rachlins go very far back in history. She said that every time she passes the old camp grounds she calls out, "Sue, where are you?" *Whenever I speak to one of you I think in terms of when you were teen agers even though I realize that you are all grown up (maybe). It gives me pause to realize how quickly life moves on and how so many of us are guilty of not taking full advantage of being alive, having good health and appreciating the good things in life that are denied to millions of people around the world. *I can hardly wait to meet you all at the reunion and see how many of you I recognize. *Best wishes for a sweet Passover holiday to you and to your families.

To all my dear friends -- does it really matter WHERE the reunion is????? What matters is that we'll all get to see each other again and hug each other again. I have called several times and this man Eli born in 1912 is still pretty active, the phone co confirms the # to him, he can lead us to Steve Solomon. See you guys soon, Roni

Barbara Judin Bonfigliio writes: First let me say how happy I am that Ira was able to find me through my folks who moved to Florida last year. I have so many memories of Camp Shoshana and reading through the guestbook brought back even more. The highlight of camp for me was NEWCOMB. No one ever knows what that is. They always want to play volleyball. We must play newcomb at the reunion. How about square dancing at Bear Mountain? Walks down the Indian Path? I also remember when we'd return from a newcomb game from Quakerhill or Rosemarins everyone cheering as we'd pull into camp. I can't wait to hear from all my old friends and to seeing them at the reunion.

Second, HAPPY BIRTHDAY RONI - 42 is a wonderful age, ofcourse, I'm bias, lol. Third, I found a Steve Solomon via classmates.com, but he wrote back to me that he is not THE Steve we are looking for, I will therefore try that phone number from Roni and see if I get anywhere. Fifth, Roni, I believe that you and I can take on the world in Newcomb and win!!! We did it back in the day, didn't we. Sixth, I am happy to announce that on June 11th I am moving from this g-d forsaken state of Virginia, back to New Jersey, where I belong. And Seventh, PLEASE everyone, keep trying to locate as many old campers as you can, so that this reunion will be a huge success. REMEMBER, SUE IS COUNTING ON US AND HARRY IS UP THERE SAYING THINK STAFF--YOU'RE NOT HELPING ME FIND MORE CAMPERS!!! My love to you all, Ellen.

The director told me that she went to Camp Monroe[a sleepaway] in the catskills. I only hope that Camp Floradan is as well run as Shoshana. They also have inter-camp sports and they knew what NEWCOMB was. The director even showed me the newcomb court. They also do an all camp show at the end of the year. Wouldn't it be funny if they did Peter Pan and Carly is Mrs. Darling and sings Tender Shepard like I did. At least she has a better voice than me. Harold Moroknek told me that he found a copy of video performance and Steve threatened to put it on the website. Egads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you guys were TAs and I was still a Senior, I remember you all took your earrings and put them in weird (well, back then it was considered weird, now it's normal) places on your faces, like your noses, to freak out the other teams. Am I crazy, or does anyone else remember this?

I guess we were ahead of the times back then, these days, it's no big deal. I can't wait to see everyone and I hope you are all doing your best to find other campers as well. I find myself checking it every few days to see who has checked in with a hello or an anecdote and am disappointed when there is no new message. So I'm writing in to say hello and encourage all of you to make plans to come to the reunion. Also, if anyone else has been checking in and then clicking off, stay for a minute and say hello.

Sue Rachlin writes: Listen up, everybody: Now isn't the time to get lazy or to procrastinate about sending in your reunion reservations for yourselves, your spouses (if you still have one or if not, you can probably find one on August 10th), your children (if you have any) and anyone else you would like to bring to liven up the event. We have to know how many tee shirts to order...the design is going to be great. I have already extricated the BIG box of slides from the depths of my closet and plan to begin reviewing them and rearranging them chronologically. Print out the order form and survey NOW and mail them together with your check. And while you're in the mood, call your old camp friends and remind them to do the same. I'm looking forward to August 10th with great anticipation. All the best, Sue

Many kudos to Karen Weissman for the deisgn/layout and font selection. I'd also like to thank the program Adobe Photoshop for helping me with the sketch of the camphouse. Are there any volunteers to help Sue with the slideshow preparation? This promises to be the most nostalgically rewarding part of the reunion. Please let her know now so that work can begin.
