Roni writes: Once again Sue, You have written the most touching words that inspire me. Yes I believe that 7 is 70 is who you are and I thank god for a great childhood & such wonderful summer memories. Some things I didn't even remember to all my friends, slides & pictures we took back then that touch my memory & brought it all back on that special day called a reunion. And my son was touched to see me with my friends, it was a bit weird to him yet he will always have the way his mom grew up in his memories now. I wore my camp shirt today at work so proud. So proud what people are in my life. I have to admit I cried all the way home today as I looked at the camphouse on my shirt, It was like being touched by an angel. Thanks everyone for being part of this wonderful reunion and help make it happen. I do not even care I had a tough ride home, it was all good and I would do it again and again, nothing can break my spirit and I learned that from color war at Camp Shoshana!!!!!!

Diane Margolin writes: I had such a time at the reunion! It was wonderful to see everyone and begin the process of reconnecting. Sue is as wonderful and beautiful as I remembered. Now that all of you have met my three daughters, here is what happened tonight. Our girls picked their Hebrew names tonight (ok, so we are a little behind on a few things...). Sally, age 5, is named after my grandmother Susan and Shoshanna was on the short list of names provide by the Rabbi. Sally quickly made that selection and has been telling all she can that her new Hebrew name is Camp Shoshanna. I have not corrected her and do not intend to.

A little interesting info...carly's camp is in the midst of its final week and of course that means COLOR WAR!!!!! She's on the white team and tomorrow night is color war sing. I think I am more excited than she is. Actually ,she didn't even want to go to camp this week, and when I asked her why it finally came out that she didn't want to be in a WAR!!!!! Needless to say we got over that and last night I had to go to Walmart at 10(the only store open that late) to buy her a plain white t-shirt for tomorrow nights sing. ALso on tap tomorrow is the much anticipated camper/ staff _NEWCOMB game_ !!!!Maybe I can go as a ringer for the white team.

Susan Rachlin writes: Dear friends,
Laura Allen wrote a beautiful note to me recently and I want to share some of her words with you.

FROM LAURA ALLEN: Unfortunately I was not able to make the reunion but it sounds like everyone had a really great time. I hope you know what an impression you and Harry and camp made on both my brother and me. Our years at camp taught us so much and enriched our lives and our Jewishness more than you could ever know. I sing so many of the songs you taught us with my children and they get such a kick out of them. I teach them circle games we learned at camp and just this past vacation on a rainy day we sat in a lake house playing Indian chief, Thumper, and singing old camp songs. It was so amazing to have all the words on the website now to refer to when I get stuck. I hope life has been good to you over the years and wanted to say thank you for touching our lives in such a profound and everlasting way.

Of course, to build on what Roni suggests, we can always go orange picking in FL.

Diane Margolin writes: Apples and pumpkins? How about we meet up in NYC on Friday, November 22nd, and toast the holiday season. So many folks work in the city, it should be easy to gather up a few. One of you must know a larger sized place that can accomodate us (whatever that turns out to mean). I am imagining no advance planing (ok Ira?), just a meeting point, a time and place. We can RSVP through this site. Maybe Steve can rig up a guest list page where we can add our names and see whose coming. Just a thought. Steve, this is no slam on apples or pumpkins. You can come visit us in western NJ and do both. We go early and often.

I have sent Ira (which he should get anyday now) the pictures from the reunion I took & the proof of Glen changing the tire in GEORGIA, bloody state we could not get out of :). Steven Kolodny writes: RE: VIRUS ALERT: There is an e-mail virus around that can 'fake-in' a senders name. It randomly selects a name from the infected computer's address book to fill in the sender's name and then spreads the virus to everyone else in the address book. I urge all of you to run virus protection software on your machines. I assure you that the contact list on the website is safe and secure. I warn you that if you do get something from campshoshana@aol.com that is not camp related it might be a virus!

Fred Jaffe writes: Regarding Steve's message about the computer viruses. I got several on my computer two months ago, just like the one Steve describes. I only got it because I didn't have, and you can only get it if you don't have, the latest updated and full Virus Scan protection, such as is offered by McAfee or Norton. But the Virus Scan cannot eliminate the virus if you already have it. A great website with all kinds of tools for eliminating all the latest virus is: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/ specifically, the page: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/tools.list.html I downloaded the tool for eliminating the "Klez" virus from there (which sounds like the one Steve is referring to), and it worked like a charm. They also have descriptions of the various viruses (which are also available at Mcafee.com, and I'm sure the Norton site, too), so you can choose the correct "fixing tool" to download. The virus really messes up your computer and can delete important files and do other destructive things, but these tools and the Virus Scan protection, used together, will cure and prevent viruses.

Ellen Bochner writes: Re: virus protection - No question that everyone ought to have virus-protection software on their computers, but there are a couple of safety tips I've learned (the hard way) that you can use to prevent yourself from being fooled, particularly by the type of virus that Steve and Fred refer to, those that use a familiar sender's name. If you're using a mail client other than AOL,use the "preview pane" to view the contents and delete it without opening it if you've determined that it's a virus (typically, there is either no text in the message or the message says something about the Klez worm). If you use AOL, check the "status" of the email first - a good clue is that it's been sent to a bunch of unfamiliar email addresses as well as yours, but the names are somehow related (e.g., I get emails to Elgebo, Elgegance, Elgebe, etc., and I delete those or I use the Notify AOL button on version 7.0). And, of course, if you've opened an email and see a screwy link, DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK!!! Delete it immediately. I also delete emails with embedded pictures, without opening them. One last tip - if you feel absolutely compelled to download an attachment, download it to a floppy or a zip that doesn't have any other important files on it.

We are still having some virus issues out there. I got an e-mail today telling me that a virus arrived in an e-mail from CampShoshana@aol.com and did some damage to someone's machine. Again - I assure you that my machine is clean and the virus is grabbing names out of an infected machine's address book and inserting those names as the sender. I urge you to either run a virus-stopping program on your machine or take your Camp Shoshana friends out of your address book! You can always use the contact page to send e-mails to camp friends.
