Renee and Shoshana

Hi fellow campers!
It's so great to have found this website. My family spent 5 years at Paradise
Park and I went to Camp Shoshana in 1963 and 1965-67. I couldn't attend in '64
- I was 14, too old to be a camper and not old enough to be a CIT so I was
sent to Camp Blueberry that year. But I have so many wonderful memories of
Shoshana. No one else has ever heard of the game newcomb. I remember Irv
Kintisch threatening to throw ice cubes in the pool if we kept complaining it
was too cold to stay in. He taught me more than anyone about swimming and
safety. I loved reading the old songs - they reminded me of the flagpole
ceremonies and bus trips to bowling, square dances at Bear Mountain - and
being in the Teen group, the bus driver would turn off the lights on the way
back to give us privacy at the back of the bus. Maybe he wanted to stop the
singing. I was at the reunion in 1978 and saw many of the old counsellors - I
sure hope they find the website too.
I live in a small New Hampshire town, I do secretarial work for a large Health
Care company, and raise my 10 yr. old step-son. I have two grown "kids," Zvi
and Shoshana, and five grandchildren. Unfortunately my son and all the
grandkids live in Israel, but my daughter lives near by. The picture on this
page is me and Shani (as I call her) taken July 4th of this year. If you
remember me, keep our secret that I'm not really a natural blonde.
I intend to visit the website often and I sure hope to hear from people!
God Bless,
Renee
